Montezuma Orchard Restoration Project

OARS-RM as a Genetic Preservation Site

Visit the Montezuma Orchard Restoration Project (MORP)

The MORP preserves heirloom Colorado apple varieties by selecting sites across the state to grow grafts of preserved varieties. We are one of those sites. We care for about 250 apple trees for this project. Almost every tree is a distinct variety. No data has been taken yet, but we serve as a preservation site. People interested in taking graft cuttings are welcome to do so with our permission.

Outcomes: Provide a source of genetic diversity and heritage to local community. Genetic preservation.
